The wild red grouse is without doubt, The iconic sporting game bird of the British Isles, if not the world. Driven grouse shooting is the absolute zenith of game bird shooting, requiring the very highest level of marksmanship with a shot gun. It attracts shooting parties from across the world from August to October.
Found in the main on the high moors of the north of England, Scotland and some parts of Wales, they are a hardy species, but the vagaries of predation, disease, parasites and weather mean that stocks can fluctuate wildly from year to year, making management a huge challenge for those tasked with it.

This fine example is presented standing on a cast rock, in typical moorland habitat setting in a bespoke high quality glass presentation case. A cased mount has more component parts and is more costly than a plain mount with no case. The former will last indefinitely whilst the latter, after a relatively short time, will become tatty and dusty.
The finished mount is framed in a 4mm class glass on a lightly oiled solid oak framed base with an inscription to denote the memory of the day.
This mount consists of the following components:

N.B. We do not use the inferior cheap 2mm glass in our cases. They are structurally inferior and not safe in a domestic situation. Larger cases are in 6mm toughened.
THIS MOUNT IS A COMMISSIONED PIECE AND IS NOT FOR SALE.
